The Lions Club participated once again in the Out of the Darkness Suicide Awareness and Prevention Walk around Como Park on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013. The Lions Club joined Channel 5’s Meteorologist Ken Barlow and hundreds of other walkers to support survivors and to bring awareness of mental health issues suffered by many.

Drawing Winner!
DCTC Student Megan Scherado won the $50 gift card offered to anyone who brings in an item for the Food Shelf. The food was collected in the Student Life Center at DCTC. Thank you to the Minnesota Vikings who provided the prize. Congratulations, Megan!

Bridging Bed Race
The DCTC Lions rocked Buck Hill again this year. It’s a huge fundraiser or Bridging, Inc. Bridging takes lightly used furniture and gives it to those in need.
The DCTC Lions ready to PLUNGE!
The Polar Plunge was a fantastic event where seven Lions jumped into a near frozen lake. The Polar Plunge is a fundraiser for Special Olympics. The DCTC Lions raised over $600 for the event! Was it cold? Duh! Was it fun? A BLAST! If you haven’t tried it, go for it.
