Greetings, Lions and Friends of Lions!

Thank all of you for a fantastic Fall semester. Over the last 16 weeks, we have:

*Helped build townhouses in Woodbury through Habitat for Humanity
*Supported the Out of the Darkness walk to prevent suicide
*Gathered about 800 lbs. of food for the local food shelf and delivered it
*Supported the Fight Against Hunger Walk at the Mall of America
*Raised funds helping the Rosemount Lions Club with Christmas tree set-up and sales
*Won the Minnesota Vikings JR Quarterback Award for service – $1000!
*Participated in and helped host the Regional Banquet of Lions for our District 5M-6

There are two ways to serve as Lions:

1) Help out with at least one event and you’re a member (get a free t-shirt and membership to Lions International (a $40 value).
2) Become a Board member. We meet about once a month (complimentary lunch is served). We decide as a team what additional services we want to support. All leadership positions are for one semester.

The election of BOARD MEMBERS will be on Wednesday, January 21 at 1:00 p.m. in room 2-603. These are the board positions that will be filled at a future meeting: president, vice-president, marketing director, secretary, treasurer, and tail-twister (public relations). You must first be elected as a Board member. All students are welcome and encouraged to participate in the election. Come be a Board member!

Next semester, we’re already are looking at a number of cool event suggestions:

*“Be the Match” fundraiser
*Bed Race down Buck Hill to support Bridging, Inc.
*Polar Plunge
*The Annual Chili Cook Off

Be a leader! Have fun, feel good, make friends, develop great contacts, and build that resume!

To all Lions, THANK YOU for a wonderful semester! –Brett
