The topic of the monthly Photons meeting for March was Light Painting.  After a brief review of the meeting minutes and a discussion of new business, Darrell presented a 45 minute presentation on tips and techniques for light painting in photographs.   What many people don’t realize is that there is at least a half dozen ways to do it.  We talked about 3 different ways and then went into the studio to practice with a live demo.   You can use flashlights or flash units to “paint”.  Only parameters is that the LIGHT SOURCE MUST MOVE DURING OR BETWEEN SHOTS.

Many light paints have other lighting in the images, and many occur during darker times of the day.  Sometimes we add light painting to star or Milky Way shots, to evening landscapes, macro images, architecture – the subjects are endless.
