Join the Photons Club

The Photons club hosts monthly meetings on the DCTC campus in Rosemount, Minn. and also organizes photography outings as often as possible. Past trips have included night photography, portrait sessions at Hot Sams, making our own backdrops from scratch, and cityscapes/fireworks. We’d love to have you join the fun, meet new people, and build your photo portfolio outside of class! You don’t need to be in the Photography Program to be a Photon!

One Response to 2018 End of the Year BBQ Recap

  1. Darrell Tangen says:

This year the PHOTONS organized two different fund-raising events. The first was a holiday portrait session in late Nov and early Dec. Interested families or groups could sign up for a 20 minutes session with a holiday theme. The family received a contact sheet and a jump drive with about a dozen images on it that they could take to a local photo lab and have enlargements or holiday cards made. It was very successful with over 18 families signing up.
The second fundraiser was a silent auction in April where students and faculty donated matted and framed prints to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. All of the 55 images were sold on the auction.
The proceeds from the fundraisers go to events like the end of year celebration, helping students attend professional and industry events, and promoting activities to enhance their photo education. Thank you to all the current and past students who helped make our events so successful.
