Blue Porch & The Kitchen Studio create handcrafted raised bed planters, metal sculptures, pergolas, indoor and outdoor art pieces, and unique garden ornaments. Products are distributed through select retail stores and online platforms. Our mission is to bring functional, artistic, and sustainable garden and home solutions to customers who value craftsmanship and creativity.
We are seeking a motivated Marketing Intern with an entrepreneurial mindset to help expand our digital presence, increase brand visibility, and drive both online and foot traffic to our retail partners and website.
Position Summary
The Marketing Intern will support branding, content creation, digital communication, and growth strategies for Blue Porch & The Kitchen Studio. This internship is ideal for a marketing student with strong initiative, creativity, and interest in small business development.
This position can be completed remotely, with occasional in-person meetings in Cannon Falls, MN.
Key Responsibilities
The Marketing Intern will assist with:
Digital Marketing & Social Media

Create and manage social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.)

Develop and implement a monthly content calendar

Produce multimedia content (videos, images, short-form clips, written posts)

Engage followers and respond to comments/messages

Build brand awareness and grow online engagement
Content Creation

Photograph products and create promotional graphics

Write engaging product descriptions, blog posts, and captions

Develop storytelling content highlighting craftsmanship, process, and brand values
Website & SEO

Update and improve the existing website (layout, product pages, images, content)

Implement and monitor SEO strategies to increase organic reach

Optimize site for user experience and conversions
Marketing Strategy & Planning

Assist in building a comprehensive marketing plan

Research trends, competitor strategies, and audience profiles

Propose new ideas for expanding online and retail visibility

Create strategies to drive increased foot traffic to partnering retail distribution centers
Retail & Sales Support

Promote retail partners and their locations through digital channels

Create materials to support in-store promotions and product displays

Assist with outreach to local businesses, garden centers, and gift shops
Analytics & Reporting

Track performance of social media, website traffic, and content engagement

Make data-driven recommendations for improvement
Preferred Qualifications

Current marketing, communications, digital media, or business student

Strong writing, visual communication, and creativity

Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing tools
