Digital Marketing Intern – Motorsports Sponsorship & Branding

Position Type: Internship

Location: Remote (with optional on-site opportunities during race events)

Schedule: Part-time, flexible hours (January–May, with potential extension)

Reports To: Driver/Team Manager

About the Opportunity

A semi-professional race car driver is preparing to make a national-level debut in a new racing series beginning in February, with the first event scheduled at Roebling Road Raceway in Georgia. To run a full season and capitalize on this competitive opportunity, the driver is actively seeking sponsorships and brand partnerships.

The Digital Marketing Intern will play a key role in developing a compelling personal brand, building a professional sponsorship pitch, and creating marketing materials that support outreach to potential sponsors. This internship offers hands-on experience in sports marketing, brand storytelling, and sponsorship strategy with real-world impact.

Position Summary

The Digital Marketing Intern will assist in building a professional, persuasive digital portfolio and sponsorship pitch for a semi-professional race car driver. The intern will help develop branding assets, conduct market research, prepare promotional content, and support outreach to companies that align with motorsports sponsorship opportunities.

This is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing marketing, digital media, communications, or sports management who want to gain experience in motorsports marketing and athlete branding.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Development & Content Creation

  • Design and develop a professional digital portfolio highlighting the driver’s racing history, performance data, media photos, and upcoming season information.
  • Create a sponsorship pitch deck tailored to prospective corporate partners.
  • Assist in developing consistent branding across social media, website, and presentations.
  • Produce high-quality content including graphics, short videos, race updates, and sponsor-focused messaging.

Market Research & Strategy

  • Research potential corporate sponsors that align with motorsports demographics.
  • Analyze competitor drivers’ sponsorship approaches and industry best practices.
  • Identify brand partnership trends and make recommendations for effective positioning.

Digital Marketing & Outreach

  • Support development of social media strategy to increase driver visibility and fan engagement.
  • Draft professional outreach emails and communication templates to potential sponsors.
  • Assist with building a distribution list of companies to target for sponsorship proposals.

Event & Season Promotion

  • Help create pre-race and post-race updates to build momentum leading up to the February season debut.
  • Organize promotional materials highlighting the national tour schedule.
  • (Optional) Attend events to capture content or assist with on-site promotions.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, Graphic Design, or related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar content-creation tools.
  • Ability to design visually compelling pitch decks and social media graphics.
  • Interest in motorsports, athletics branding, or sponsorship marketing (preferred but not required).
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to meet deadlines independently.
