Job Description Position Summary
Seeking an enthusiastic individual who is looking to gain experience in social media at a non-profit serving over 400,000 visitors a year in sparking children’s learning through play. This position is responsible for assisting the external relations department with various tasks and projects related to social media and communications at Minnesota Children’s Museum. Some of these responsibilities include creating copy for bi-weekly newsletter and other owned digital channels, assisting with the execution of an editorial (content) calendar and collecting analytics from owned social media channels.Major Job Accountabilities
This is an estimate of the dutiesto be included in the internship. The exact duties and projectswill be determined by mutual agreement of the intern and museum staff. All dutieswill be carried out with the direction and supervision of the External Relations department.50% Creating copy for owned channels
20% Executing content calendar
20% Research as directed
10% Collecting and analyzing analyticsPosition is 10-12 hours per week for 3-4 months (September-December, some flexiblity on dates). 120 hour commitment in fall 2014.

Ability to interpret and analyze data.
Proofreading, keen eye for detail.
Knowledge of branding, logos and target audiences.
Computer skills, including MS Office Suite (especially Word and Excel).ADDITIONAL PREFERRED SKILLS:
