Position Title: Event Marketing Intern
Classification: Part-time flexible hours 5-10 hours/week, Savage Arts Council
Compensation: Unpaid
Duration of Position: May – August
Job Summary:
Provide marketing support for Minnesota River Arts Fair and Scott County Art Crawl both in Scott County MN. Marketing activities will include promotion at community summer events and parades, coordinate visitor surveys project, assist at event information booths, assist with press/media coordination, and marketing materials distribution.
Job Expectation:
The Intern will work for the Savage Arts Council, a non-profit organization based in Savage MN, with events throughout Scott County, and will include the following activities and expectations.
Promotion at Summer Events
Identify area community summer events to attend and promote Savage Arts Council Art events (Dan Patch Days, Derby Days, etc.).
Coordinate with community organizers to participate in parades and information booths.
Coordinate volunteers for community events (parade walkers, etc.)
Attend community events and actively promote Savage Arts Council art events.
Coordinate Visitor Surveys
Coordinate distribution and collection of visitor survey documents.
Coordinate volunteer survey takers at events.
Compile and tally survey results.
Provide analysis on survey results.
Information Booth Assistance
Coordinate booth volunteers
Assist in set-up and tear/down of information booths at events
Interact with visitors and share Savage Arts Council information
Press/Media Support
Update media contacts list
Assist with press release/media kit preparation
Assist with media calls and interview coordination
Marketing Materials Distribution
Coordinate and assist with marketing materials distribution throughout the South and Southwest metro area.
Assist with coordination of Scott County Art Crawl materials distribution at Savage meeting (August 24)
General Qualifications:
Intern must be willing to work closely with the Marketing Director to take direction and constructive feedback, and to collaborate to help improve marketing programs.
Intern must be self-motivated, self-directed, organized, resourceful, and attentive to details.
Intern must be comfortable interacting with a wide range of people and share information regarding the Savage Arts Council and its art events.
Intern must feel comfortable making phone calls to gather information and coordinate with volunteers.
Intern must have a positive, energetic attitude, strong desire to meet Savage Arts Council goals and commitments, friendly, and professional.
Intern must be proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Office.
Intern must have reliable computer, phone and internet access.
Intern should have access to a quiet environment for phone conversations.
Intern must be able to meet deadlines.
Specific Qualifications:
Intern must be available for evening and week-end work.
Intern must have reliable transportation to distribute marketing materials and attend community summer events.
Intern must be available July 19 – 21 to be onsite at the Minnesota River Arts Fair.
