Over the past few months, a group of DCTC Interior Design students worked on a real project with Hastings Community Television (HCTV) in Hastings, Minnesota. The project included new finish materials, new signage, and new furnishings, all culminating in establishing a new brand identity for the television station.
Students stated that volunteering to work on a real project was a valuable experience. The design challenge as well as the budget and time constraints were no doubt real world, and the effort to pull the various components together was a great learning experience.
The project consisted of two phases. The first phase included new finish materials and signage (wall graphics with their logo). The second phase includes new furniture. The photo below shows the newly finished space at the end of the first phase.
Stay tuned for more photos when phase 2 is complete.
