Eyual Alemayehu • Q & A
What have you enjoyed most about your time as a DCTC Upward Bound student?
I have enjoyed all of our trips during my time as a DCTC Upward Bound student, but one
in particular would be our overnight trip to the University of Wisconsin–River Falls. This
was a trip that I will never forget and created many new memories.
How has Upward Bound helped you prepare for college?
Upward Bound has helped me explore college options as well as opportunities. Upward Bound has also helped guide me in the right direction of my future dream career path.
What advice would you give high school students thinking about participating in Upward Bound?
If you are someone who thinks Upward Bound is something that isn’t a good fit for you, it
is more than likely a good fit. I was recommended by my own family member, who is an
Upward Bound alum, and I totally shut down the idea of it at first, but ended up getting convinced and haven’t regretted the decision since.
If you could make one thing happen on Earth right now, what would it be?
If I could make one thing happen on Earth right now, it is to make peace between
everyone. Life’s too short to have problems, so making everyone live in peace would be
the one thing I would make happen if possible.
