Dakota County Technical College has received Silver recognition in three Education subcategories in the Minnesota’s Best Star Tribune Readers’ Choice Award program. The college was voted second in the state in the following areas:


2021: Silver Best College/University

2021: Silver Best Trade/Technical School

2021: Silver Best Adult Learning

According to CollegeStats, Minnesota is home to more than 140 higher education institutions. DCTC (Silver) was one of three schools recognized in the Minnesota’s Best College/University subcategory, beating out the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, (Bronze) and taking second to Minnesota State University Mankato (Gold).

In the Trade/Technical School subcategory, DCTC (Silver) finished behind Prime Digital Academy (Gold) and ahead of Slam Academy (Bronze). In the Adult Learning subcategory, DCTC (Silver) competed against Cooks of Crocus Hill (Gold) and Academy of Whole Learning (Bronze).

Dakota County Technical College endeavors to serve students within nearby communities, as well as those coming from countries around the world. The majority of students work toward degrees and diplomas in a variety of programs to prepare them for employment.
