Ann Byre Joins Angie Craig on Prescription Drug Costs Panel in D.C.

DCTC Foundation Board member contributes to Rx for Success

Ann Byre, PharmD, vice president of pharmacy services at Allina Health and a member of the DCTC Foundation Board, joined Congresswoman Angie Craig (D-MN-02) for Rx for Success – Part II, a panel discussion held Wednesday, June 26, 2019, in the Longworth House Office Building in Washington, D.C. Hosted by Vizient, a healthcare solutions and services company, the event was titled “A Series on Strategies Providers Use to Address Rising Prescription Drug Costs.”

“Ann serves on the executive committee of the Foundation Board,” said Michelle Boe, JD, executive director of the DCTC and Inver Hills foundations. “We are lucky to have someone so accomplished in the healthcare field and so passionate about supporting our college, our students and our community.”

The briefing highlighted how hospital providers nationwide are managing and mitigating rising prescription drug costs. Panelists covered a variety solutions such as:

  • Strategies to increase generic drug competition
  • Enhancing supply chain efficiencies
  • Preparing for biosimilar adoption
  • Helping avoid drug shortages
