Registration opens for current students March 18, 2019
Wednesday, May 22, commemorates the day in 1906 when the Wright brothers, Orville and Wilbur, were granted a patent for their “flying machine.” Three years earlier, the brothers constructed Wright Flyer I, employing spruce for the framework and muslin for surface coverings. The craft also featured wooden propellers and a gas-powered engine, the latter custom-built in their bicycle shop.
On a more relevant note, Wednesday, May 22, 2019, is the day Summer Session 2019 begins at Dakota County Technical College.
Of course, Fall Semester 2019 classes begin Monday, August 26, the same day in 1967 The Beatles, Mick Jagger, Marianne Faithfull and Mia Farrow conferred with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi at a transcendental meditation conference in Bangor, Wales.
