Scott Erickson honored with Chancellor’s Award

Outgoing CFO Scott Erickson was honored during the chief financial officers conference

Scott Erickson, Vice President of Finance and Operations at Dakota County Technical College and Inver Hills Community College, received the Chancellor’s Award Dec. 9 during the Minnesota State Chief Financial Officers ConferenceScott Erickson

The Chancellor’s Award recognizes individuals or teams whose efforts support the system’s Strategic Framework and result in system-wide improvements in financial management, services and/or processes. Award criteria focus on innovation, collaboration and new work that is above and beyond regular duties.

Minnesota State Chief Financial Officer Laura King said over the course of his career Erickson has taken challenging assignment after challenging assignment. His leadership, she added, has helped form and refine the policies and practices the Minnesota State system uses today.

“I couldn’t let this last chance go by to thank him for his service, his leadership and his professional contributions to our work,” said King. Erickson will retire in January after 36 years of service to Minnesota State and the community college system.

In addition to his time at DCTC and Inver Hills, Erickson has served as the Vice President of Finance and Operations at Minneapolis Community and Technical College as well as the same role at Century College.

Patrick Jacobson-Schulte will take over duties from Erickson Jan. 9.
