DCTC and Team Ortho partnered to host the 2016 Minnesota Duathlon
Dakota County Technical College, in partnership with Team Ortho, hosted the successful Minnesota Duathlon Sunday, Aug. 21. More than 1,000 athletes flocked to the DCTC campus to compete in the event and many more came to watch.
“The DCTC Duathlon was a huge success,” said Larry Lewis, DCTC organizer.
Team Ortho donated a portion of every race registration as well as exhibitioner fees to the DCTC Foundation to support DCTC students. The total came to $6,000 that will benefit students through scholarships.
Team Ortho Foundation Board member Patrick Hagan presented a check to the DCTC Foundation Aug. 24th. Team Ortho’s mission is to promote healthy active lives through fun running events for everybody. It host a variety of running events including the Women ROCK, the Monster Race Series and the Polar Dash.
Foundation director Michelle Boe said the college looks forward to working with Team Ortho again.
“We look forward to partnering with the Team Ortho Foundation in the future to bring more people to campus, continue to support students scholarships and promote healthy living through fun running events,” said Boe.
