Highway 3 closure, from County Road 46 to Claremont Drive, could impact commute to DCTC
The Minnesota Department of Transportation will close Highway 3 between County Road 46 and Claremont Drive beginning Wednesday, July 20. Crews will close Highway 3 at 10 p.m. Wednesday. The closure will continue until 5 a.m. Monday, July 25th.
Motorists should use the marked detour which includes County Road 50 and Pilot Knob Road. Additionally, motorists should plan extra time to get where they’re going.
Dakota County Technical College students, staff and faculty, especially those who come from the south, should be aware of the construction and plan accordingly.
The estimated $5.3 million project includes the resurfacing of Highway 3 between Highway 50 and 170th St. in Empire Township; the installation of new traffic signals; the updates of pedestrian crossings to match current accessibility standards; the addition of a bike trail between 194th St. and 195th St.; the creation of trail accesses at 197th St., 200th St. and Chesterfield Way; and the modification of access at Walnut Street, Larch and Main Streets.
