Men’s basketball player Cliff Gatonye will play at Southwestern Assemblies of God University next season
Dakota County Technical College Men’s Basketball player Cliff Gatonye signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Southwestern Assemblies of God University during an event May 17. He will join the SAGU Lions for the 2016-17 season.
Gatonye, from Nairobi, Kenya, played forward for the Blue Knights for two seasons. At 6’6″ he was an integral part of this year’s team, which won the National Junior College Athletic Association District VII Championship. The team also made school history by making it to the NJCAA national tournament.
Located in Waxahachie, TX, the Lions play Division 1 in the National Christian College Athletic Association. For the 2015-16 season, the Lions had a 20-13 record.
