The DCTC Foundation will host its annual fundraising and recognition event April 28th

The Dakota County Technical College Foundation will host its 5th annual gala Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Brackett’s Crossing Country Club in Lakeville, Minnesota. Community members and college supporters are invited to attend the True Brew Gala, which was established to raise scholarship funds for students in need.

Usually called the True Blue Gala, this year’s event will include chef inspired food and beer pairings, trivia run by Trivia Mafia, fabulous desserts from Granny’s Donuts, as well as the usual favorites that include an AWESOME silent auction, live auction, a Wall of Beer, recognition of some of our faculty, students, and friends, and so much more. The evening will begin at 5 p.m.

The True Brew Gala will also serve as a formal recognition event with the following award recipients recognized: Outstanding Alumni, Rising Star, Spirit of DCTC and DCTC Advocacy. Faculty, staff, students, alumni and other stakeholders may nominate individuals who meet the criteria for the following awards:

DCTC Advocacy Award
The DCTC Advocacy Award recognizes and individual or business that has displayed extraordinary support for the college mission through partnerships, community engagement and the promotion of technical education as a pivotal component in the quest for economic prosperity.

Spirit of DCTC Award
The Spirit of DCTC Award recognizes an individual who has shown exceptional leadership, work ethic and dedication as a part of the DCTC community.

Outstanding Alumni Award
The Outstanding Alumni Award recognizes an individual who has shown exceptional leadership, work ethic and dedication as a part of the DCTC community.

Rising Star Award
The Rising Star Award recognizes a young alum (having received their degree or diploma within the last 10 years) who is making significant contributions to society through professional or philanthropic work.

Nominations must be received by March 31, 2016

 A selection panel comprised of Foundation board members, faculty, staff, and students will be assembled to select the recipients and the winners will be announced Wednesday, April 6.

Both the selected recipient(s) and the person who nominated the selected winner(s) will receive one (1) comped ticket to attend the True Brew Gala on Thursday, April 28, at Brackett’s Crossing, where the winners will be recognized. In addition to these awards, the DCTC Board of Trustees nominee, Instructor of the Year, and Adjunct of the Year will also be recognized.

About the DCTC Foundation…

Established in 1983 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the DCTC Foundation functions as a conduit for gifts and grants that benefit the college and their students. By providing resources to students, the college and their programs, the foundation upholds the DCTC mission, which is Education for Employment. Governed by a board of directors with up to 18 members, the Foundation has generated more than $3.2 million in financial assistance for students while building a general endowment fund and establishing private endowment funds. The Foundation has also received in-kind donations for equipment, tools and supplies used in many DCTC programs.
