Six DCTC students braved a dip in frigid waters to support a good cause
Six Dakota County Technical College Lions Club members plunged into icy Prior Lake on Saturday, February 20 in support of Special Olympics. The Lions Club raised $655 for the plunge.
The Polar Plunge challenges thousands of jumpers to take a dip into a frozen lake with events around the state. All funds raised go towards Special Olympics programming and events for more than 8,000 athletes statewide.
Lions Club Brandy Boyer led the team and was proud of each student’s bravery. The Polar Plunge is wildly successful raising over $2 million in Minnesota so far just this year. The Prior Lake plunge raised over $173,000 and had 761 “plungers” participate this year.
Way to go, Lions! That was a hoot!
