DCTC held its first Student Success Day on Wednesday, February 10, 2016.  The day included short, inspirational presentations on topics specific to student success (i.e. stress management, using virtual tools and portals, financial tips and success strategies). Additionally, a panel of students, alumni and faculty shared success testimonials and lessons learned from their own experiences. A Student Life and Resource Fair offered students the opportunity to learn about the resources on campus as well as ways to get involved..

“It was great to connect with students at the Student Life Fair, learn about their future career goals, and connect them with Student Life activities or campus resources that can help them reach their goals,” said Anna Voight, Assistant Director of Student Life.

Nearly 100 students participated in the day’s event. Director of Student Success Patrick Lair said coordinators of Student Success Day were pleased with this initial effort and hope to use it as a foundation to plan for a bigger success day in future semesters. There were some DCTC faculty that brought their entire class down to hear the Success Talks while other encouraged their students to attend and to receive extra credit points.

The presentations and panel were recorded. If you didn’t have the chance to attend, view the videos below.
