Interior design program honored with prestigious NKBA award

For the third year in a rowNKBA, the DCTC Interior Design program has been honored for providing Excellence in Education

The Interior Design program at Dakota County Technical College (DCTC) received the 2014 National Kitchen and Bath Association Excellence in Education award.

This is the third consecutive year that DCTC has won and one of 14 design programs nationally to be a recipient.

Annually, NKBA recognizes programs across the country for Excellence in Education. To garner the recognition, the interior design program, led by instructor Brenda Higgins, submitted two student bath design projects which were scored based on the NKBA guidelines and standards. Winning programs achieved an average score of 90 or above.

The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) announced the winners this past fall. NKBA is a not-for-profit trade association that provides industry accreditation to two- and four-year colleges.

This is the third consecutive year the DCTC Interior Design program has been recognized by NKBA. Alexandria Technical and Community College was the only other Minnesota school to receive the Excellence in Education award.
