Military Family Day Planned for Thursday, Nov. 5

DCTC welcomes back Ryan Schmidt for Military Family Day!

Note: Ryan Schmidt needed to cancel his presentation for Thursday, Nov. 5, due to a family emergency. Military Family Day will be postponed to a later date. DCTC Student Life hopes to reschedule Ryan’s presentation on campus.

The public, DCTC faculty, and staff are invited to attend a Military Family Day presentation featuring Ryan Schmidt.  Ryan shares his inspiring story of his military service and perseverance to overcome the obstacles he faced in his life after his service due to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Ryan is a retired Sergeant and U.S. Army recon sniper. He served in Afghanistan and Iraq and experienced combat injuries. He has physical injuries, as well as chronic and severe PTSD. Ryan is a former member of a worldwide biker organization; current owner and sole proprietor of Consummate Warrior LLC; a veteran’s advocacy consultant and public speaker. In addition, he also provides training relating to mental health stigma within the Armed Forces and the criminal justice system.

The event begins at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Nov.5  at Dakota County Technical College, 1300 145th Street East (Dakota County Road 42) in Rosemount in their Dakota Conference Room.   Please park in the visitor lot.

DCTC is a Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Campus.
