Business Students Travel to Willmar, Minn. to Participate in the Business Professionals of America College Division Professional Development Conference
Students from Dakota County Technical College attended the Business Professionals of America (BPA) Professional Development Conference, “Imagine Believe Become,” in Willmar, Minn., October 19-20, 2015. DCTC chapter members joined over 115 other conference delegates from across the state to participate in general sessions and workshops. The students were accompanied by their advisors, Marie Saunders and Lyle Stelter.
The culmination of the conference was the election of the 2015-2016 state officer team. DCTC student Stephanie Hunt was elected Vice-president of Public Relations. Other DCTC student participants included Victoria Mode, Sierra Furlong, Kimberley Hardwick, Vheryl Brogger, Mathew McCrillis, Kevin Day, Anthony House, Dan Nguyen, Marta Roth, Stephanie Hunt, and Josue Rosas.
Business Professionals of America is a national organization for high school, college, and middle school students preparing for careers in business and information technology. The organization’s activities and programs complement classroom instruction by giving students practical experience through application of the skills learned at school. Business Professionals of America acts as a cohesive agent in the nation-wide networking of education and business industry. BPA is contributing to the preparation of a world-class workforce through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academic and technological skills.
