DCTC Welcomes New Students to Campus

New Student Orientation 2015 a huge success!

Overall 266 new students–almost 400 people counting family members and friends–attended DCTC’s New Students Orientation on Thursday, Aug. 20.

New students participated in a variety of events including meeting with faculty from their program, campus tours, informational break-out sessions and opportunities to get any questions the new students might have answered.

Students were asked to fill out a survey on what their impression was about the campus, faculty and staff.   The survey results showed overwhelmingly positive feedback about how welcoming and helpful our campus community is.  Some comments from students are listed below:20769837851_e0e6b423a3_n

“All the teachers were willing to get on your level. Very awesome”
“Being able to tour the school lowered my anxiety about getting lost and confused. The tour made me more comfortable with the school”
“The simple, straightforward information. The friendly staff and how the information was presented at a good pace. Not too fast but not too slow”
“How to be successful in your program because they told us what we need and what we are to do”
“The tips presented by students, teachers, and staff ”
“Staff was very friendly and stressed all the resources available for student success”
