Two HCET students each receive $1,000 for buying tools
Kyle Maxwell, 26, of Lakeville, Minnesota, and Cary Truman, 39, of Red Wing, Minnesota, two students in the Heavy Construction Equipment Technology program at Dakota County Technical College, each received a $1,000 scholarship from the mikeroweWORKS Foundation in partnership with the AED Foundation, an affiliate of Associated Equipment Distributors.
Roger Gartner, an HCET instructor, reported that the scholarship awards are based on GPA and designated for purchasing tools. “Cary and Kyle are exceptional students who have made the most of their education at DCTC,” Gartner said. “Both have excelled during their internships as heavy equipment technicians, Cary with Ziegler Power Systems and Kyle with Ziegler CAT. The scholarships could not have gone to two more deserving students.”
