Students will learn brewing and business skills
Dakota County Technical College announced today that beginning August 2015 the college will be launching a new Brewing & Beer Steward Technology program for students interested in learning brewing and business skills needed to succeed in the brewing industry.
The five-course program is intended to provide students with a solid understanding of brewing science, engineering, management and service. Certified brewing and beer stewards have the knowledge for positions in beer stewardship, operations management, marketing and distribution, and financial management of breweries.
Some graduates may set up, operate or maintain equipment. Others may use their substantial knowledge of items to sell goods for wholesalers, manufacturers, businesses or individuals. Skilled graduates may seek employment in laboratories, brew houses, brewpubs or small craft breweries, working indoors near enclosed spaces such as tanks or brewing vessels.
Applicants must be age 21 or older by the program enrollment start date.
