Funds support scholarships and state-of-the-art tool purchases
The Dakota County Technical College Foundation recently received a Walser Foundation grant for $8,100 to purchase automotive equipment and fund scholarships for students in the Automotive Technician program. The grant funds will be used to purchase one GM MDI factory interface tool and one Ross-Tech VAG-COM Diagnostic System. The funds will also support five $1,000 scholarships for students enrolled in the Automotive Technician program. Eligibility for scholarships will be based on financial need as determined by DCTC. Nancy Warner, the director of the Walser Foundation, stated, “We are proud to support the Dakota County Technical College Foundation and appreciate the great work that Dakota County Technical College does in the Twin Cities.” “DCTC is excited to partner with the Walser Foundation to grow our Automotive Technician program,” said Tharan Leopold, DCTC executive director of foundation and alumni. “The tools and scholarships give deserving students the opportunity to learn the latest technology as they complete the program and graduate fully prepared to launch careers in the automotive industry.”

By providing resources to students, the college and our programs, the Foundation upholds the DCTC mission, which is Education for Employment.
