“The True Blue Gala benefits students by helping them pay for tuition and books,” said Tharan Leopold, DCTC executive director of foundation and alumni. “Scholarships frequently allow students to stay in college when experiencing financial hardships.”
Leopold added that this important fundraising event provides a great opportunity for alumni to reconnect with the college. “We will also recognize our four awards recipients,” he said.
About the DCTC Foundation…
Established in 1983 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the DCTC Foundation functions as a conduit for gifts and grants that benefit the college and their students. By providing resources to students, the college and their programs, the foundation upholds the DCTC mission, which is Education for Employment. Governed by a board of directors with up to 18 members, the Foundation has generated more than $3.2 million in financial assistance for students while building a general endowment fund and establishing private endowment funds. The Foundation has also received in-kind donations for equipment, tools and supplies used in many DCTC programs.
