DCTC basketball coach Jay Pivec
Jay Pivec was a highly successful men’s basketball coach at Minneapolis Community & Technical College, winning 425 games and guiding the Mavericks to two junior college national championship games. The year after his team’s last appearance in the title game (2009), MCTC officials eliminated the program and Pivec was without a job. Not for long, though. He was hired to start the basketball program at Dakota County Technical College. Pivec has made DCTC a winning program in its first season.
