MSCSA Meetings Hosted on Rosemount Campus

Meetings part of 2012 Student Leadership Conference

On Jan. 5–7, DCTC hosted the Business Meetings portion of the Minnesota State College Student Association Leadership 2012 Student Leadership Conference on our Rosemount conference. More than 150 students from all over the state attended the meetings.

“We were excited about hosting the event,” said DCTC Student Life Director Nicole Meulemans. “Many of our students are involved with MSCSA, a great organization that helps make sure students have access to high-quality and affordable public higher education options. MSCSA also provides students with representation as well as opportunities for leadership development throughout Minnesota.”

On a related note on Friday evening, Jan. 6, around two dozen DCTC staff, faculty and students attended the MSCSA Leadership Scholarship Dinner and Silent Auction at the Hilton Minneapolis/St.Paul Airport-Mall of America. More than 280 guests attended the event, which raised $11,000 for the MSCSA Leadership Scholarship Program. Around 100 silent auction items were donated by MSCSA member students as well as businesses throughout Minnesota. Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Chancellor Steven Rosenstone delivered the keynote address, recognizing student leaders for their outstanding service to their colleges and communities.
