Coached eight NJCAA DI national championship teams at CSI
Ben Stroud, the former women’s volleyball head coach at the College of Southern Idaho, is the new head coach of the DCTC Blue Knights women’s volleyball team, which begins its first season fall 2011. Stroud has 22 years of experience coaching NJCAA DI women’s volleyball. He coached the Golden Eagles to eight NJCAA DI national championships during his career. From 1994–1997, CSI women’s volleyball put together 190 consecutive wins. Stroud was the 1997 Tachikara/AVCA JC/CC National Coach of the Year.
Stroud created a volleyball dynasty at CSI, coaching 26 All-Americans, seven AVCA Players of the Year and eight national tournament MVPs. His collegiate volleyball career coaching record stands at 926–169, an almost 82 percent winning percentage. He was inducted into the College of Southern Idaho Hall of Fame. He also coached women’s basketball at CSI, winning two Region 18 DI titles.
After his head coaching career with the Golden Eagles concluded in 2006, Stroud went on to coach the Camas County Mushers girl’s high school volleyball team to the Idaho Division 1A State Volleyball Championship in 2009.
