Unhidden Talent
Freelance illustrator Kristin Olson considers all her artwork—no matter the scope or purpose of the project—a potential portfolio piece. That discipline, combined with bundles of pure talent, make her a standout in the Applied Visual Arts program.
“I like that the program allows me to really focus on my art,” Olson said. “I’m drawn to sci-fi fantasy and do a lot of my work in Photoshop and Corel Painter 11.”
Olson, 26, is also a writer, graphic designer, photographer and collector of vintage locks and keys. She works as a pickoff at UPS, which pays for her college education through scholarships. Her dream is to write and illustrate her own children’s fantasy books. You can find more of her work at Atethirteen Artistics.
