2010 Fall Portfolio Show
After two years of hard work, 14 Visual Communications students at Dakota County Technical College showcased their finest projects in graphic design, multimedia and Web design, and applied visual arts at the 2010 Fall Portfolio Show. The event took place Wednesday, Dec. 8, in the Library Atrium on the main DCTC campus in Rosemount, Minn.
“The students in the show are nearing graduation,” said Connie Larson, an instructor in the Graphic Design Technology program. “They put tremendous effort into their portfolios. During this last semester especially, they really focused on perfecting their design skills. For me, it’s always a lot of fun helping them reach the professional level.”
Larson pointed out that VCOM instructors continue to guide and mentor students as they transition from the classroom into the job market. “A major part of our role as instructors is using our industry contacts to help graduates launch their careers,” she said. “I’m never happy until I know my graduates are making the most of their education.”
