Attention all DCTC students! Advance your academic and professional careers by participating in SkillsUSA. DCTC coaches are available to assist students in training for the SkillsUSA Minnesota State Conference Championships.

Chapter Display
- Check out last year’s SkillsUSA DCTC Chapter display outside Student Life Center
Extemporaneous Speaking
- Contestants give 3- to 5-minute impromptu speech; topic given out five minutes before competition begins
Job Interview
- Students improve job interview skills by
- Completing employment applications
- Undergoing preliminary interviews with receptionist
- Undergoing in-depth interviews in selected occupational area
Job Skill Demonstration A
- Contestants demonstrate and explain entry-level skill used in selected occupational area
Pin Design
- Students present state-winning pin along with artwork
- Contestants give oral presentation regarding all aspects of design creation
Prepared Speech
- Contestants deliver 5- to 7-minute prepared speech on common theme
Promotional Bulletin Board
- Contestants design bulletin board displays based on annual SkillsUSA theme
Quiz Bowl
- Teams of five compete to answer questions regarding academic knowledge, professional
development and current events
