Free screening event for students on DCTC Rosemount campus
Do you often feel like you don’t care about anything anymore? Are you always too tired to go out with family and friends, study, or go to class? If fact, in nearly every college across the country there are some students who report feeling so depressed that they have difficulty functioning in everyday life.
Loss of motivation can be normal from time to time—but if you don’t ever feel like doing anything or have no interest in things you once enjoyed, it might be a good idea to seek help.
DCTC is offering a free screening event for students on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Learning Center (Room 2-141) as part of a National Depression Screening Day. Students will have the opportunity to complete a written self-assessment and meet one on one with a mental health professional. Those who appear to need further evaluation will be able to make an appointment with the DCTC college counselor or be referred to community resources.
