DCTC Tops Region 13 for most NJCAA Academic All-Americans

Seven DCTC students excel as athletes and scholars

The NJCAA National Office in Colorado Springs, Colo., recently announced the recipients of the 2009–2010 NJCAA Distinguished Academic All-American and Academic All-American awards. Seven student-athletes from Dakota County Technical College made the list, ranking DCTC first in NJCAA Region 13 with the most Academic All-Americans. Minnesota West Community & Technical College and Williston State College also posted seven award winners.

NJCAA Region 13 has 28 member institutions with 18 participating in the MCAC,” said DCTC Athletic Coordinator Cam Stoltz. “Having this many Academic All-Americans at our college is made even more impressive by the fact that DCTC has the smallest athletics department for overall athletes and total number of sports when compared to other schools in the region.”
