TJ Haag Signs with Rochester Thunder

Former Blue Knight to play in USL

TJ Haag

TJ Haag, a former Blue Knights soccer player at Dakota County Technical College, signed to play for the Rochester Thunder in the United Soccer League. A senior at Augsburg College, Haag played for two years at DCTC from 2006–2008. A midfielder, he made the ICCAC Region XI All-Region First Team in 2007 after making Second Team the year before. He was the DCTC team’s MVP in 2007.

A member of the Heartland Division in the USL Premier Development League, the Rochester Thunder showcases top-flight college and professional players, including 2009 Hermann Trophy-winner, Teal Bunbury, who was recently drafted fourth overall by the Kansas City Wizards of Major League Soccer.

A native of Apple Valley, Minn., and a graduate of Burnsville High School in Burnsville, Minn., Haag is the second former DCTC player to play in the USL. Alejandro De La Mora, a Blue Knight from 2005–06, signed a professional contract in 2007 with the Minnesota Thunder, formerly of the USL First Division.
