As of May 3, 2010, the DCTC Blue Knights baseball team, with an overall record of 25–15, holds first place in the  Minnesota College Athletic Conference Southern Division. With a conference mark of 10–2, the Knights hold a one game lead over both the Rochester Community and Technical College Yellowjackets and the Riverland Community College Blue Devils.

The Knights play a pivotal doubleheader against Riverland Wednesday, May 5, at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. in Austin, Minn. With a record of 9–3 in conference play, Riverland is ranked #4 in the latest NJCAA Men’s Baseball Div. III poll. RCTC, which received votes in the national poll, is also 9–3 in the South Division.

Head Coach Randy Briesacher reports that his team is looking forward to meeting the Blue Devils on their home turf. “In late April, we beat Riverland at home 12–2 and 4–2,” Briesacher said. “The stage is set for a very exciting doubleheader with a lot on the line.”

DCTC closes out the regular season with a doubleheader against Anoka-Ramsey Community College Saturday, May 8, in Coon Rapids, Minn. Riverland and RCTC face each other in a doubleheader the same day. DCTC and Riverland tied for the division title last year. The top three teams in the division advance to the NJCAA Div. III Region 13 Baseball Championship at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minn. May 13–16, 2010.
