DCTC Hosting Summer Soccer Camps

Coerver Camps, goalkeeper training and MYSA College Development Program at Ames Soccer Complex

Dakota County Technical College will hold a series of soccer camps this summer to serve communities in the Twin Cities south metro area. All camps will be held at the new Ames Soccer Complex on the DCTC main campus in Rosemount, Minn.

Coerver Camps

Coerver Camps, featuring the internationally recognized Coerver Method, will be put on in cooperation with the NSC Minnesota Stars, a professional soccer club in the 2010 USSF Division-2 Pro League. Camps for all ages five up through 18 years will be provided during three separate weeks this summer.

Goalkeeper Camp

A high-level Goalkeeper Camp and Training will be presented July 5–9 by Keeper Konnection. The goalkeeper training is designed to improve and expand individual goalkeeper abilities both with and without the ball. The Keeper Konnection camp is headed by Apple Valley, Minn., native, Jon Lowrey, a former NCAA Div. I and professional goalkeeper.

MYSA College Development Program

The Minnesota Youth Soccer Association will host the College Development Program for high-level high school players. The “CDP” is a three-day intensive program designed to prepare ambitious 10th–12th grade players to compete at the college level. The on-field sessions mimic the initial days of a college soccer preseason training camp to challenge player skill, tactical awareness, and physical and psychological fitness in a competitive setting.

The program also gives players an idea of the various demands they should expect once they enter college through presentations on the college recruiting process, sport psychology, and making the adjustment to college soccer and college life. The camp is open to boys and girls who are entering 10th grade or higher, including those who have completed high school, but not yet attended college. The camp is directed by Andy Coutts, MYSA director of technical education, and features college coaches of all levels including NCAA Div. I.

For more information on all the camps, please contact DCTC Head Soccer Coach Cam Stoltz. Registration information and forms are available below under each camp listing.
