DCTC’s celebrating 40 Years with Flamingo Fling,
During which we are asking, “What’s Your Thing?”
This night will be your chance to explore what makes you unique,
And perhaps find a new career path or skills that put you at your peak.
If food is more your game, then 40 restaurants will certainly delight you,
And if that doesn’t do, we have entertainment, games and Plinko, too.
Please join us April 7 for this night of FREE family fun,
And help us celebrate the 40 years of great work DCTC has done.

Dakota County Technical College is celebrating the college’s 40th Anniversary this year by holding a very special College Showcase. Titled Flamingo Fling: What’s Your Thing?, the free event is rolling out a new theme that works on determining the primary interest or talent of individual guests. Showcase is expected to draw thousands of visitors from surrounding communities thanks to 40 participating restaurants and food vendors.

A new activity this year, Flaminko Plinko will offer eight participants the opportunity to play Plinko for a $4,000 scholarship to DCTC. Based on Plinko, the über popular game on The Price Is Right, Flaminko Plinko will be played on a humongous, custom-designed board. Visitors can sign up for a drawing to play Flaminko Plinko at any one of the academic booths set up at Showcase.

Free Festival for Everyone

  • Help celebrate DCTC’s 40th Anniversary
  • Enjoy food and drink from 40 participating restaurants and food vendors
  • Sign up for a drawing to play Flaminko Plinko at any one of the college department booths
  • Learn all about DCTC from faculty and compete for prizes at academic department booths
  • Bring your Flamingo Fling invitation with your “Determine Your Thing” quiz to enter a drawing for an Apple iPod
  • Grab a Flamingo Fling program at the door and get the answers to seven trivia questions by visiting seven academic booths, then bring trivia answers to Admissions Booth and answer one more trivia question to enter drawing for 42″ HDTV
