The GET JOBS JOB FAIR will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Eagan Civic Arena at 3870 Pilot Knob Road in Eagan.
More than 60 exhibitors, including representatives from numerous local employers and schools, will be available to discuss job and educational opportunities for entry-level to high-skilled positions.
The following free workshops will be provided at the job fair:
• Job Seeking Skills – noon to 1:30 p.m. by Sean Fetterman of Twin Cities Public Television
• Job Search Motivation Workshop – 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. by Bowler Bob, the Kingpin of Personal Improvement
Additionally, job seekers can brush up on their interviewing skills by taking part in practice interviews conducted by recruiters from job fair exhibitors.
“The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development is a proud sponsor of the GET JOBS JOB FAIR,” said Dan McElroy, Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development. “This first-rate event is coordinated by the staff of the Minnesota WorkForce Centers of Dakota and Scott counties.”
Free shuttle buses are available to and from the job fair and the WorkForce Centers in Burnsville, Shakopee and West St. Paul. Sign language, Hmong and Spanish interpreters will also be available for job seekers at the job fair.
“Every year, this popular event attracts thousands of job seekers,” said Cathy Weik, chairperson of the Dakota-Scott Counties Workforce Investment Board. “The GET JOBS JOB FAIR is always highly successful in connecting qualified job seekers with good jobs.”
