DCTC Women’s Soccer Facing ICCC in NJCAA Region XI Tourney

Lady Knights earn bye to make Final Four

Blue Knights women’s soccer finished the regular season 15–5, setting a record for the best year in the team’s history. The Lady Knights finished second in the ICCAC with a 6–2 conference record.

After earning a bye in the NJCAA Region XI Tournament, DCTC is set to play Iowa Central Community College in a semifinal game Saturday, Oct. 31, at 3 p.m. in, on Field 4 at the James W. Cownie Soccer Park in Des Moines, Iowa.

This season, the Lady Knights beat the Tritons 1–0 at home and 8–0 away, but Head Coach Cam Stoltz is preparing his team for anything. “We have been working very hard on our conditioning,” Stoltz said. “We’re not looking past Iowa Central, but I know that the team is dead set on facing Iowa Western in the finals.”

Rated #5 in the latest NJCAA Div. 1 poll with a 15–0–1 record, IWCC defeated DCTC twice this season, 0–4 at the Ames Soccer Complex on the college’s Rosemount campus and 1–5 in Iowa. The Reivers have to get past Scott Community College to make the regional final. If the Knights make the finals, they will play Sunday, Nov. 1, at 5 p.m. on Field 7 at Cownie Park.
