Post seven consecutive shutouts
The Blue Knights women’s soccer team dumped Rochester Community and Technical College for the second time this season, winning 1–0 in Rochester Sept. 30, 2009.
Head Coach Cam Stoltz reported that the Lady Knights had a difficult night, but persevered even without starting sweeper, Julie Rath, who was out due to illness.
Thirty minutes into game, freshman midfielder, Paige Taylor, was red-carded, forcing the Knights to play shorthanded, 10 vs. 11, for the last 60 minutes. Nonetheless, DCTC scored the winning goal with 30 minutes to go, holding on to secure the team’s seventh shutout in a row. The Knights have held opponents scoreless for 632 straight minutes.
The Lady Knights have won 10 out of their last 11 games to go 10–3–0 on the season. They travel to Marshalltown, Iowa, to battle Marshalltown Community College Saturday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m. DCTC is currently in second place in the ICCAC.
