Seesaw conflict ends with no score after double overtime
The opening schedule of strong opponents continued Wednesday, Sept. 2, when the men hosted ICCAC runner-up North Iowa Area Community College at 3 p.m. at the Ames Soccer Complex on the DCTC campus. Offenses on both teams failed to find the net and the game ended in a 0–0 after regulation and two 10-minute overtime periods. The Knights are 0–3–1 on the season.
On Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, the men and women’s soccer teams will face the Iowa Western Community College Reivers on the championship field of the brand-new Ames Soccer Complex, which was built through a partnership between DCTC and the city of Rosemount with in-kind service from Ames Construction. Representatives from Rosemount, Ames Construction and the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system will be present for the soccer complex’s official dedication ceremony, which will begin at 3:30 p.m. on game day.
