Women’s Soccer Prepares for Regional Semifinal

Knights will face Iowa Central at Mason City

The DCTC Blue Knights women’s soccer team will play the Iowa Central Community College Tritons in the NJCAA Regional Semifinals after receiving a quarterfinal bye for finishing third in theIowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC).

With a 9–8–0 record on the season, the Lady Knights are enjoying the best offensive and defensive year since 2003—the first year of the program.

  • Freshman Katie Lucca ( Lakeville South) leads the team with 17 goals and 44 points overall.
  • Freshman Heath Neurer (Tartan) is second with six goals and nine assists for 21 points.
  • With 16 games in goal, freshman Kassie Young (Lakeville South) has made 124 saves, earning a 1.68 goals against average for the season.

The regional final four team playoffs will take place in Mason City, Iowa, on the North Iowa Area Community College campus. The semifinal game is Saturday, Nov. 1, at 11 a.m. If the Knights win, they will advance to play the winner of the Iowa Western and Scott Community College semifinal. The regional championship game, which would be the first for DCTC women’s soccer since 2003, is scheduled for noon Sunday, Nov. 2.
