Lady Reivers blank Lady Knights in hard-fought clash
Ranked number one in the country in the latest NJCAA Division I soccer poll, the Iowa Western Community College Lady Reivers downed the DCTC women’s soccer team 5-0 in the second game of the Sept. 16 doubleheader.
IWCC scored three goals in the first half, but DCTC held strong, allowing the last two goals in the 65th and 66th minutes of the game. DCTC freshman goalkeeper Kassie Young (Lakeville South HS) made 14 saves in a valiant defensive effort.
The Blue Knights drop to 1-1 in the ICCAC and 3-5 overall.
Both the men and women’s teams travel to Fort Dodge, Iowa, on Sunday, Sept. 21, to take on the Iowa Central Community College Triton men and women in ICCAC action. The men start at noon; the women start at 2 p.m.
DCTC soccer plays its next home games on Thursday, Sept. 25, against the Indian Hills Community College Warriors. Men start at 2 p.m.; women start at 4 p.m. The Blue Knights play all home games at Rose Park in Burnsville, Minn.
