Anderson, Keely |
The women’s soccer team at Dakota County Technical College lost in the regional semifinal 3-1 to Iowa Central Community College on Saturday, Oct. 27.
The loss ends the Blue Knights season with an 8-12-0 record.
The game was scoreless until Central scored late in the first half to take a 1-0 lead. They pushed their lead to 2-0 with a goal in the second half.
With their backs against the wall, the Blue Knights picked up their play and had Central on their heels.
Keely Anderson (Soph., Spring Hills, Wis.) cut the lead to 2-1 when she scored off of a 35-yard free kick that went in off of the crossbar.
She had the exact same shot a few minutes later and again hit the cross bar but this time the ball didn’t bounce into the goal.
DCTC kept attacking to get the tying goal but Central kept them out of the goal and even extended their lead to 3-1 with a nice counterattack goal.
