Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Foundation Trustee Emeritus Bob Erickson – better known as Biker Bob – will stop by Dakota County Technical College on Thursday, Sept. 20, as part of his sixth annual Bike Tour for Scholarships.
Erickson is scheduled to arrive in the Central Commons area at 11 a.m., and all DCTC students, staff, faculty, and community members are invited to join the Student Senate in welcoming him to campus.
In his previous five bike tours, Erickson has raised over $303,000 and provided 225 scholarships to part-time students.
As part of the fundraising, Larry Raddatz, DCTC customized training coordinator, and Paul Cartwright, Student Senate president, have agreed to become part of Erickson’s ride to Inver Hills Community College following his visit to DCTC, and are seeking pledges for their respective efforts.
Those interested in making a pledge for the part-time scholarship fund should contact Cam Stoltz at 651-423-8462.
DCTC will be Erickson’s third to last stop in his 2,300 mile trip that began Monday, Aug. 20.
The 30-day trip will have covered all 53 campuses in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system by the time it is over on Thursday, Sept. 20.
