The votes are in and Exercise and Sport Science Instructor Sara Woodward has been named the 2007 DCTC Instructor of the Year.
Woodward has been teaching the Exercise and Sport Science program at DCTC for the last five years and has been an Instructor of the Year nominee three times. She has been a key piece to the evolution and growth the Exercise and Sport Science program has experienced and has made a significant impact on the students that enter her classroom.
One student nomination said of Woodward, “Sara has helped me and many other students maximize their education. She is fair to all students and ensures that everyone is learning to the best of their ability. She has inspired me to grow not only in the classroom, but also in other areas of my life. She has made a dramatic impact in my life and in the lives of others in the Exercise and Sport Science program. Not only does she impact individuals in the program, she is a positive influence around the DCTC campus.”
Woodward is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a certified strength and conditioning specialist and personal trainer. She holds a master’s degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise physiology from the University of Minnesota and is currently pursuing her doctorate in kinesiology with an emphasis in sport psychology, which she hopes to complete by summer 2008.
