Dakota County Technical College has partnered with the International Business Training Association (IBTA ®) to begin offering key business skills training for the surrounding area.
The partnership with the International Business Training Association and Dakota Technical College allows students to be trained and receive international credentials that demonstrate their expertise on the best practices in essential business skills. This partnership will offer large-scale training to equip the business professional with the required skills needed to meet and surpass business demands.
IBTA’s Certified Business Professional (CBPT) is an internationally recognized program and an industry credential that validates and develops the business professional. IBTA has created the CBP program to exceed all standards in the business sector.
“By offering the Certified Business Professional business skills training, Dakota County Technical College is now poised to train a myriad of individuals in international business skills, making those who receive the CBP distinction more employable,” said Barry Cohen, International Manager, IBTA. “The CBP business skills training is already structured and customized to provide optimal learning opportunities by providing real-world business principles in the classroom. DCTC’s supportive environment and trained instructors will be able to manage the large influx of individuals needing to receive the business skills training that is so essential in today’s global economy.”
By offering standardized business skills training devised by the world-renowned International Business Training Association, DCTC is able to provide the training required to be competitive in the current and future workforce. T he skills taught in the CBP curriculum are necessary for any business to function at a level that ensures business success and customer satisfaction.
Scott Gunderson, program supervisor for Dakota County Technical College, looks forward to the benefits of the program.

Gunderson also noted students receiving this training will get a balance of technical training along with the business skills needed to survive and excel in the work environment. He expressed confidence that by offering the CBP series to local area businesses and individuals, DCTC will ultimately be supporting the overall economic development of the area by providing well-trained employees with management potential.
